RB ROCKET SANDERS

– His focus has been helping the guys around him and getting healthy as he comes back from shoulder surgery

– When asked where he is with his injury, he feels like he’s ahead of schedule

– Adds that with his injury, he feels like USC is making him part of the team despite him being out. Feels more involved each day, which is helping him stay up to speed with what the offense is trying to do. Felt that wasn’t the case at his last school when he was injured.

– Says coach Blackwell keeps it real with the RB room and that there’s no BS. Can tell that he knows his stuff with the way that he talks to the room, not only about the offense but explaining different things that standout about the defense to help them understand their assignments better

WR MAZEO BENNETT

– Credits his WR trainer Bobby McGowans who he trained with throughout high school and even going back to middle school. There relationship started when Bennett’s father found out that McGowans, who was his son’s middle school principal, trained wide receivers. Felt that he learned a lot of little details that most WRs that age don’t learn until college

– Has really enjoyed working with WR coach Mike Furrey. Smiled when thinking back to when Furrey was recruiting him to play at Limestone.

– Says he’s been able to learn a lot from watching Gage Larvadain. Has already been able to take things from his game and apply it to his

QB LaNORRIS SELLERS

– Things are slowing down for him. Having gone through spring practices before, he has a better understanding of what he’s doing and why he’s doing it

– Calls Mazeo Bennett’s progression faster than any freshman he’s seen.

– Protecting the football, moving the ball, and scoring are three things he’s focused on for the spring game. Doesn’t matter how they do it, but if they can do all three of those things when he’s out there as a team, he’ll be satisfied with his performance.

– Anyone on the DL standing out? “TJ Sanders can wreck a practice if he wants to”

EDGE DYLAN STEWART

– Everything has been going well. The first practice he could instantly notice how quick the speed is

– Sterling Lucas holds him accountable. Lucas played a key role in Stewart committing to USC

– One of his personal goal is to be a freshman All-American and break the freshman record for sacks
