Shane Beamer shares encouraging update on Nyck Harbor following scary moment in A&M game

South Carolina’s Nyck Harbor went to the hospital as a precaution and spent Saturday night in College Station following a scary moment late in the Texas A&M game, but is now back in Columbia and doing well, head coach Shane Beamer said Sunday evening.
The junior wide receiver landed hard on the turf and then had a defender land on his chest in the process of making an 18-yard reception on 4th and 6 to keep the Gamecocks alive with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Harbor walked off the field under his own power with trainers after being looked at for some time.
The Insiders Forum: Discuss South Carolina football!
“Health-wise, the two that we were the most concerned about coming out of yesterday, Nyck Harbor and Brandon Cisse, we’ll see how the week goes on both those guys,” Beamer said Sunday during his teleconference. “Nyck did spend the night in College Station. I talked to him last night after we landed back in Columbia and he was in good spirits when I talked to him last night.
“He is back in Columbia now. He spent the night and flew back this morning from College Station and is back in the building right now. Proud of him, and hate that he went through that, but glad he’s back here and glad everything’s okay.”

Harbor finished with three catches for a career-high 102 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown catch and run he had in the second quarter that gave South Carolina a 27-3 lead at the time.
It is not known what Cisse’s injury was. Usually a key part of the Gamecock defensive backfield, he played just 28 snaps in the game.
South Carolina returns to action this week against Coastal Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium. The matchup is set for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff on the SEC Network.
