The Gamecocks (2-1) are coming off a disappointing 31-7 loss to Vanderbilt at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday night.

“I told the team that we didn’t do enough winning football tonight. I mean, there’s a ton of self-inflicted mistakes; that starts with me,” Beamer said. “Disappointing because we had a great week of practice, and we were certainly ready to play. And it wasn’t good enough.”

To add injury to insult, South Carolina superstar quarterback LaNorris Sellers was injured in the game, exiting in the second quarter and not returning.

Head coach Shane Beamer said following the game that there was no new update on the redshirt sophomore.

Beamer will speak again to the media on Sunday evening.

Missouri is off to a 3-0 start on the season after defeating Louisiana 52-10 on Saturday.

The Gamecocks won last year’s game 34-30 on a legendary final touchdown drive that ended with a Sellers shovel pass to Rocket Sanders.

This year’s matchup, set for this Saturday in the other Columbia, will kick off at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
