South Carolina switching athletics apparel providers from Under Armour to Nike

The University of South Carolina is expected to make a change with their on-field athletic apparel.
The Gamecocks will switch from Under Armour to Nike as the school’s official athletics outfitter, GamecockCentral confirms. The Post and Courier’s David Cloninger first publicly reported the news on Thursday.
South Carolina has been with Under Armour since 2007. The Gamecocks re-signed with Under Armour in 2016, but that agreement will end June 30, 2026. It is expected that a new deal with Nike will begin at that time.

Both South Carolina AD Jeremiah Donati and Associate AD Wesley Mallette were sitting athletic directors at Nike schools before arriving in Columbia. While at TCU, Donati helped the Horned Frogs re-sign with the apparel company. Mallette aided in facilitating the first Nike/BSN Sports contract for UC-Riverside.
Friday’s vote will not mean that the 2025-2026 school year will see the Gamecocks in new uniforms. The current contract with Under Armour runs through next summer. That means, barring something unforeseen, Friday’s announcement won’t affect Carolina’s uniforms until the 2026-2027 school year, when the iconic Nike swoosh will be on all garnet and black jerseys.
Details around South Carolina’s new apparel deal with Nike should come on Friday after the BOT meeting. That meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. The BOT will also vote to finalize Mallette’s contract with the University.
