Cayden Gaskin enters transfer portal after one season with South Carolina baseball program

South Carolina junior infielder Cayden Gaskin is entering the transfer portal, he announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday.
“After much prayer, thought, and discussion with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal on June 2 and explore new opportunities for the next chapter of my journey,” Gaskin said in the post. “Thank you again to Gamecock Nation for the love and support. I’ll always have respect for this program and wish nothing but success to the team moving forward.”
Gaskin, who will have one year of eligibility remaining, spent one season with the Gamecocks after transferring from Northwest Florida State College ahead of last year. He made 20 appearances in garnet and black, going 8-29 (.276) at the plate with one home run, 7 RBIs and six runs scored.
The transfer portal will be open from June 2 to July 1 for all players.
