Infielder Erik Parker has committed to South Carolina, he announced Saturday evening in an post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Parker spent his freshman season at Georgia, where he appeared in 16 games, primarily as a pinch-runner. He went a combined 1-4 at the plate, with his lone collegiate hit coming in a Feb. 23 matchup against UIC. Parker also scored 10 runs, earned two walks and stole one base with the Bulldogs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers took Parker with a 15th-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, but he opted to play college baseball instead of going straight to the minor leagues. Prior to joining Georgia, he posted multiple records at North Gwinnett High School and was a two-time All-Region First Team selection, in addition to being a Perfect Game All-American.

This has been a very active offseason for South Carolina as it looks to bounce back from a disappointing 28-29 record this season. The Gamecocks have now added six transfers, including Louisiana-Monroe reliever Josh Gregoire, Purdue first baseman Logan Sutter, Samford two-way player Cullen Horowicz, USC Upstate right-hander Amp Phillips and Sacred Heart right-hander Elijah Foster.

The transfer portal opened on Monday, June 2, and will remain open until July 1 for all players.
