Former South Carolina baseball starter hitting transfer portal

South Carolina baseball utilityman Will Tippett is entering the transfer portal. He announced on social media that he plans to hit the portal when the transfer window opens on Monday.
In his message, Tippett thanked his South Carolina baseball teammates, coaches, and fans. He will have one more year of eligibility remaining.

A former starter at shortstop who also filled in at second base, first base, third base, and in the outfield at times during his career, Tippett’s struggles with the bat removed him from the everyday lineup in 2025. As a Gamecock, Tippett hit just .181 with a .330 slugging percentage. He logged 11 career home runs in 119 games.
Tippett joins Roman Kimball, Wyatt Evans, Tyler June, Cayden Gaskin, and Ryan Bakes as players who have announced intentions of leaving Carolina this offseason.
