The contact period for the class of 2027 reopened this week, and South Carolina basketball coach Lamont Paris and his staff have gotten to work. Following a major offer on Sunday for four-star prospect Martay Barnes, the Gamecocks offered fellow ’27 four-star K’Majay Jenkins.

The South Carolina offer follows previous power conference offers from Oklahoma State and Clemson. Jenkins also recently took an unofficial visit to the Upstate to see the Tigers.

An Anderson native who played his first two years of high school ball at Westside High School, Jenkins is transferring to Moravian Prep to join the YNG Dreamerz of Overtime Elite. Moravian Prep has produced current Gamecocks Eli Ellis, Hayden Assemian, and Abu Yarmah, USC commit Isaac Ellis, and South Carolina target Kohl Rosario.

Jenkins is a 6-6, 6-7 wing who can play any role needed on the perimeter. He calls himself a combo guard, though the recruiting industry views him as a small forward. His future at the college level is likely on the wing.

As a player, Jenkins is an explosive athlete. He possesses significant bounce and plus length on the wing. He is capable of being a mismatch problem against almost any type of player, and with an improving three-level scoring punch to back up his impressive physical gifts, he is becoming nearly impossible to slow down. Jenkins can attack the rack at will, and his shot-making away from the paint is getting better all the time. He is the rare high school prospect who seems to value defense, and he can develop into a better-than-typical shot-blocker for his position. If he continues developing on that end, he could become a high-level stopper.

On3 considers Jenkins to be the No. 34 overall recruit in the class of 2027. He’s also No. 2 from South Carolina and will be No. 4 in North Carolina, barring any changes. Among small forwards, Jenkins slots in as the No. 13 player in the country.
