South Carolina basketball SEC schedule revealed

South Carolina basketball will have a new-look team as they attempt to bounce back from a tough 2024-2025 season. 11 Gamecock newcomers will join with three returners (yes, that leaves one empty scholarship spot) as Lamont Paris attempts to recreate the magic from two years that saw the team make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2016-2017 Final Four run.
On Wednesday, South Carolina learned what would be a big part of that journey. Both USC and the SEC announced the team’s 2025-2026 conference schedule. Specific dates and times will come at a later date.
According to the releases, the Gamecocks will play the Florida Gators, LSU Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs twice. South Carolina will see the rest of the conference just once until the SEC Tournament. You can check out the entire slate below.

Just like last season, the Southeastern Conference figures to be the best in college basketball. As such, the Carolina schedule will be among the toughest in the country. A 12-20 overall record a season ago was made worse by the strength of the SEC. In non-conference games, the Gamecocks went 10-3, including a 3-0 mark against the ACC. Conference play, though, was a different story.
Last year, with two games each against Florida, Mississippi State, and Georgia (and one regular-season home game and one SEC Tournament game against Arkansas) as well as one game against the rest of the league, South Carolina went just 2-16 in SEC play and 2-17 overall against conference foes. The SEC schedule began with 13 losses in a row for the Gamecocks. Seven of those losses came in one-possession or two-possession defeats, a stark contrast to the NCAA Tournament team from the year prior. That season, USC went 7-2 in one-possession and two-possession SEC contests.
In addition to the conference schedule, South Carolina has already announced several non-conference games. The annual rivalry game against Clemson hasn’t been given a date yet, but the Gamecocks and Tigers will play in the Upstate. USC also will face off against the Butler Bulldogs and Northwestern Wildcats in the Greenbrier Tip-Off in November. The third installment of the ACC/SEC Challenge will feature Carolina facing the Virginia Tech Hokies at Colonial Life Arena. The season will open in Columbia with a showdown with the North Carolina A&T Aggies.
