South Carolina is back from its bye week and will travel to College Station this weekend to take on No. 3 Texas A&M.

That game is slated to kick off at noon on ESPN on Saturday.

The following week, the Gamecocks will return to Williams-Brice Stadium for a two-game home stand to close out the regular season, which starts with Coastal Carolina coming to town on Nov. 22.

Next Saturday’s game against the Chanticleers will be played at 4:15 p.m. on SEC Network, the SEC announced on Monday.

The Insiders Forum: Discuss South Carolina football!

This will only be the third time that these programs have ever met in football. Both of their previous meetings came during the 2010s, starting in 2013, when the Gamecocks earned a 70-10 win at Williams-Brice Stadium. They met again five years later, with South Carolina winning 49-15 at home to open the 2018 season.

It’s worth noting that Coastal Carolina was still at the FCS level back in 2013, then moved up to the Sun Belt in 2017. The Chanticleers are in the midst of a strong season this year, one that could end in a trip to play for the Sun Belt conference title at season’s end.

They’re currently 6-3 on the year and 5-1 in conference play, trailing James Madison by one game in the East division. Those two teams will meet in Conway after traveling to Columbia the week before.

Coastal dropped a pair of non-conference games early in the season to fall to 1-2 on the year. It opened the season with a 48-7 loss to Virginia, then was shut out 38-0 at home by East Carolina on Sept. 13.

Since then, the Chanticleers have won five of their last six games with a trip to Georgia Southern on deck this weekend.

Meanwhile, South Carolina (3-6, 1-6 SEC) needs to win its final three games to become bowl eligible for the second straight season. That quest starts and could very well end when the Gamecocks head to play a still unbeaten Texas A&M team on Saturday at Kyle Field.

After taking on Coastal next weekend, South Carolina will close out the regular season with a home date against Clemson on Nov. 29. That game will be at noon on ABC or ESPN.
