South Carolina defensive lineman plans to enter transfer portal
Another South Carolina defender has indicated his plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal when it opens next month.
Defensive lineman Zavion Hardy broke the news on Thursday morning that he will transfer away from the Gamecocks program.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder arrived in Columbia in January as a junior college transfer from East Mississippi Community College.
He played his high school ball at two different programs – Howard in Macon, Georgia, as well as Tatnall Square Academy.

This season, Hardy played in just one game for South Carolina, logging snaps in the Coastal Carolina contest. He did not record any statistics in that game.
Hardy joins tight end Michael Smith and offensive lineman Nick Sharpe as players who have indicated plans to transfer.
The NCAA transfer portal opens on January 2 and runs through January 16 once the calendar flips to 2026.
