On Saturday, College GameDay was in Miami, Florida ahead of a Sunshine State battle between the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes. Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, and Rece Davis led the show in front of a large group of fans of “the U,” but there was plenty of talk about other games, too. South Carolina’s Mayor’s Cup matchup with Missouri made a couple of appearances.

Specifically, quarterback LaNorris Sellers was a major part of the Saturday morning conversation.

Early in the show, Pete Thamel reiterated his previous report about Sellers’ availability, saying that the star sophomore will play against Missouri. The Gamecocks’ Friday night availability report was the first one of the week that did not include Sellers. Following a helmet-to-helmet hit against Vanderbilt that knocked him out of the game, Sellers was “questionable” on Wednesday and “probable” on Thursday.

The GameDay crew also spent some time talking about the top quarterback prospects ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. In a survey of 25 NFL executives and scouts, Sellers earned the most overall votes as the draft’s “QB1.” Eight of the NFL decision-makers said the Gamecock QB is the best prospect in the country.

Every Saturday, College GameDay picks the best games of the weekend.

When it came time for the GameDay crew to make their week four selections, South Carolina-Missouri made the cut and was one of the games on the docket. Unfortunately for the garnet and black faithful, it was not an optimistic set of prognostications for the Gamecocks. The GameDay panel picked the game against the spread, not straight up. At the time of this writing, BetMGM gives Missouri a 10.5-point advantage.

None of the five pickers, other than Herbstreit, seemed to indicate that they thought Shane Beamer’s team had a chance to pull off the win in the “other Columbia.”

Howard led off with a pick for South Carolina to cover but didn’t indicate that he thought USC will win. Saban picked the Tigers to win and cover the big spread but seemed to question Sellers’ health. McAfee went with the Gamecocks to cover. Celebrity guest picker Matthew Tkachuk joined Saban, predicting a lopsided Missouri win. Herbstreit said USC might win the game outright but will definitely cover.
