South Carolina EDGE Dylan Stewart on which quarterback he wants to sack in 2025: 'Everybody'

South Carolina sophomore EDGE Dylan Stewart is one of the most hyped defensive players in the country this offseason. The Gamecock pass rusher has picked up tons of recognition as a top-10 returner to college football and as a candidate for award lists this fall. On3’s Pete Nakos recently spoke with Stewart. In his story on the conversation, he said Stewart “might be college football’s best pass rusher.”
In that same conversation, Nakos asked Stewart if he had any particular quarterback he looked forward to bringing down this fall. The former five-star prospect didn’t answer Nakos’ question directly but somehow gave an even better response. “Everybody,” he said. “I like to play football,” Stewart told On3. “I like to hit people.”
The answer speaks to Stewart’s mentality as a player: he wants to be the best player he can be so that he can help South Carolina win. Anyone who gets in his way is an enemy he will conquer. “I’m trying to make a play every play,” Stewart said. “[I] just get to move somebody out of the way.”

Dylan Stewart was a freshman sensation in 2024. Though a few of his traditional counting stats took a hit thanks to playing on a loaded defensive line, Stewart finished in the top six nationally at his position in quarterback hurries and PFF pass rush grade. He earned several SEC and National Defensive Freshman of the Year honors.
Stewart will enter this fall as one of the country’s most feared pass rushers. If he can live up to or even exceed the high expectations placed on him, it will mean good things for the Gamecocks.
