South Carolina football star makes another preseason All-American team
On Wednesday, the Sporting News revealed its preseason All-American team. South Carolina star sophomore Dylan Stewart made the outlet’s first team, slotting in as a first-team EDGE alongside Clemson’s TJ Parker.
Said the Sporting News about Stewart, “Stewart (6-6, 247) showed flashes of dominance as a freshman – and it brought back memories of Jadeveon Clowney. Stewart had [6.5] sacks – and just one of those came in South Carolina’s last five games. He still managed 17 hurries in those five games, according to PFF. Stewart should hit the double-digit sack mark as a sophomore. We’re banking on it.”

Stewart’s preseason recognition follows a long list of other offseason honors. The former five-star has been on every preseason All-SEC list, has made multiple other preseason All-American teams, and has earned inclusion on preseason award watch lists for several prestigious awards.
Stewart finished the 2024 season with 6.5 sacks but was among the nation’s leaders in total quarterback pressures. He was a Freshman All-American and won multiple Freshman Defensive Player of the Year awards.
