Last season, South Carolina went 5-2 inside the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium. But, if one asks most Gamecock fans, that record comes with a slight asterisk. One of those two defeats was the controversial, officials-altered game against LSU. In that contest and the Ole Miss matchup (the other home loss), quarterback LaNorris Sellers was less than fully healthy. He suffered a sprained ankle against the Tigers, exiting the game in the second quarter and missing the following three halves of football. He sat out a week (against Akron) and then returned with a limp against the Rebels.

The Gamecocks also went 5-2 at home in both 2023 and 2022. A three-year home mark of 15-6 is strong, but USC is even tougher at home at night. South Carolina has lost just one night game in Columbia during that same span. Shane Beamer’s team has more top 10 home wins at night in the last three years than total night losses. The Gamecocks lost to Clemson at night in 2023 but defeated No. 5 Tennessee in 2022 and No. 10 Texas A&M in 2024.

In 2025, South Carolina will play in two stadiums ranked inside EA Sports’ top 25 toughest places to play. LSU (No. 1) and Texas A&M (No. 11) will host the Gamecocks this fall. Last year, Carolina knocked off two of their three opponents (win at Oklahoma, win at Clemson, one-possession loss at Alabama) in the rankings.
