Watch: South Carolina football's "2001" entrance in EA Sports College Football 26

After the highly anticipated re-introduction of EA Sports’ college football video game series last year, South Carolina football fans were clamoring for Gamecock-related improvements in this year’s addition of the game. So far, so good on that front.
South Carolina star EDGE rusher Dylan Stewart is one of several cover athletes on the Deluxe Edition of the game. The Gamecocks’ “Sandstorm” crowd celebration has seen some tweaks to make it more accurate. New inclusion of the team’s “2001” pregame entrance had been reported, as well.
On Monday, EA Sports offered a sneak peek of the new feature. You can watch the video below.
The entrance will include the iconic song and run-out (and its follow-up, “Step to the Rear”), as well as South Carolina’s light show, ribbon boards, and Cocky’s Cockaboose emergence. The fans’ towels, which were incorrectly black in the 2025 edition of the game, are now white. In the EA Sports trailer, it appears that animated versions of quarterback LaNorris Sellers and defensive back DQ Smith are leading the team out of the tunnel alongside what seems to be head coach Shane Beamer’s first inclusion in the game (offensive coordinator Mike Shula and defensive coordinator Clayton White also will be in the game).

It is also worth noting that play-by-play man Chris Fowler describes South Carolina as the nation’s No. 12 team during his pregame introduction. Like last year, the Gamecocks’ roster has enough dynamic talent to make the team a fun choice for players.
Over the next two weeks, EA Sports will share more College Football 26 news and tease out more trailers. Fans can preorder the game now ahead of its July 10th release. Those who preorderer will receive early access to the game on July 7th.
