ESPN's odds for South Carolina victories in the Gamecocks' final three games

Through nine games of the 2025 season, South Carolina is 3-6. Shane Beamer’s team has to win out to reach the six-win bowl-eligibility threshold.
The path to doing so won’t be easy, though, as the Gamecocks will play Texas A&M on the road before home contests against Coastal Carolina and Clemson.
According to ESPN’s predictive model, Carolina will be a favorite in two of those three remaining games.
The Insiders Forum: Discuss South Carolina football!
On November 15th, when the Gamecocks travel to College Station, ESPN gives South Carolina just a 16.7% chance of pulling the upset. Texas A&M is undefeated and No. 3 in the AP poll. Pending this Saturday’s game against Missouri, the Aggies might become College Football Playoff locks if they beat USC.
The following week, on November 22nd, ESPN gives South Carolina a 93.4% chance to beat Coastal. While the Gamecocks have scuffled of late, the Chanticleers have won three in a row.

Two days after Thanksgiving on November 29th, the Palmetto Bowl will feature two of the most disappointing teams in the country in regard to preseason expectations. The Clemson Tigers are 3-5 with games against Florida State, Louisville, and Furman before coming to Columbia. There is a real chance that Clemson needs a win to reach bowl eligibility. The worldwide leader gives South Carolina the edge with 55.6% odds of victory.
According to ESPN’s FPI (Football Power Index), the Gamecocks have just an 8.3% chance of winning out and reaching a bowl game. As things stand, the model predicts a 4.6-7.4 final record.
As South Carolina attempts to overcome those odds, the offense will have a new playcaller down the stretch. Passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Mike Furrey will step in for the recently fired Mike Shula. Run game coordinator/tight ends coach/interim offensive line coach Shawn Elliott and the rest of the offensive staff will be more involved in the game planning, as well.
Furrey will make his USC playcalling debut next Saturday against Texas A&M. That game will kick off at noon (Eastern). Either ABC or ESPN will broadcast the contest, while the ESPN app makes it available via streaming.
