There is a loaded slate of college football games on the docket for this weekend, and On3’s Pete Nakos picked his top 10 games of the week. Making the cut was South Carolina’s road SEC matchup with the LSU Tigers.

Said Nakos, “LSU and Brian Kelly are coming off the bye after losing at Ole Miss. Garrett Nussmeier’s health remains a concern as he deals with an abdominal injury. How he looks coming off a week of rest will be key to what the remainder of the season looks like for the Tigers. South Carolina already has two losses but could re-enter the CFP mix with a win in Death Valley at night.”

If Carolina is to make a run to a strong season in 2025, it likely will have to include a win on Saturday. In Baton Rouge, the Gamecocks will begin a stretch of five games against AP top 11 foes.

Like South Carolina, LSU is coming off a bye week. Unlike Shane Beamer’s team, though, Brian Kelly’s Tigers lost their last time out to Ole Miss.

This weekend, USC will be looking for its first win over LSU since 1994, well before anyone on either roster was even born. That win was the program’s only victory in Baton Rouge.

Last year, the Gamecocks had a victory taken from them thanks to a LaNorris Sellers injury and questionable officiating. Had that game gone differently, South Carolina likely would have made the College Football Playoff.

South Carolina and LSU will take the field at 7:45 p.m. (Eastern). SEC Network will carry the broadcast, while the ESPN app makes the SEC showdown available for streaming.
