South Carolina football pledge visiting school where he was once committed

This summer, South Carolina football flipped four-star running back Amari Thomas from Florida State. However, according to a report from Warchant.com’s Michael Langston, the Florida native will be back in Tallahassee this weekend. Thomas will take an unofficial visit to see the Seminoles as FSU takes on the Miami Hurricanes in a highly anticipated matchup.
The trip to Tallahassee shouldn’t come as a complete surprise to Gamecock fans. Thomas made it clear that he wasn’t 100% done taking visits in the lead-up to his commitment. He had planned to head out to Colorado and left the door open for return trips to Florida State, as well.
Earlier this season, he had planned an FSU trip, but that visit never materialized. Now, it seems as if he will return to the team he decommitted from back in July. At this time, it is far too early to predict a flip back to the Seminoles, but it is worth mentioning that Mike Norvell’s program has continued pushing for Thomas, even through his decommitment.
Thomas is the only running back pledged to South Carolina at the time of this writing. He announced his commitment in August. There have been a few other backs on the Gamecocks’ board, but no one but Thomas pulled the trigger on a USC pledge.

As a player, Thomas has explosive ability and is one of the most statistically impressive players in Florida. He rushed for over 170 yards this past weekend for his Blountstown High School squad.
Rivals considers Thomas to be the No. 201 overall player in the class of 2026. He is also the No. 17 national running back and No. 25 prospect in talent-rich Florida.
