In-state speedster sets visit to South Carolina

South Carolina brought in four scholarship in-state wide receivers in a six-man class during the 2025 recruiting cycle. So far for 2026, the Gamecocks do not have any wideouts committed, but USC has several names on its board as potential options for what should be a small haul of receivers. One of the more recent names to surface has been Palmetto State product Amiri Acker.
Acker, a Crescent High School standout, will visit Columbia this weekend, GamecockCentral has confirmed. He will be in town for a camp workout, as well. At the time of this writing, Acker does not hold a South Carolina offer. However, his recruitment has heated up a bit in recent months. He has earned power conference offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, USF, Georgia Tech, and NC State.
Acker has visited South Carolina previously. He has official visits scheduled to Kentucky and Liberty.

The rising senior is a hard worker and a dual-sport athlete who excels in track and field. He’s posted 100-meter times in the 10.5s and is an accomplished hurdler, too. Acker’s work on the track positively translates to an ability to get behind defenses on Friday nights.

Acker’s game is built on that speed. He has been a dangerous deep ball threat for Crescent, and he accelerates quickly, allowing him to beat pursuing defenders who take poor angles. He’s more than just a straight-line runner, though. Acker has some wiggle after the catch, and at 6-2, he has enough size to high point the football against smaller secondary players. He can be a factor in the quick game, as well.
While he does play some as a defensive back for his Tigers team, Acker’s college future is likely at receiver.
On3 has not ranked Acker, but 247Sports considers him a 3-star prospect and top 100 class of 2026 receiver.
