Several players earned South Carolina offers during the first Shane Beamer Football Camp of the Summer. One of the more intriguing names to make a mark was EDGE prospect Gustaf Henriks Ras. He announced on social media Thursday night that he had picked up a Gamecock offer. USC was his third power conference offer, following Texas A&M and Maryland.

From Sweden, Ras is a tight end who became a linebacker, then a defensive end. He stands 6-4 and weighs in at 235 pounds. As of the time of this writing, Ras is an unranked prospect according to the recruiting industry. That won’t last for too much longer.

Ras is a physical specimen with a lot of athletic ability; he runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.6s and has posted shuttle times in the 4.2s. For reference, if those times are accurate, they would have ranked in the top 10 at this year’s NFL Combine.

This season, Ras currently leads his spring league in Sweden in sacks and tackles for loss despite it being his first year rushing the passer. He plays some snaps as an off-ball linebacker, as well. Ras also had success as a two-way player, still getting some reps at tight end. He is a confident and competitive athlete, too.

So far in the 2026 class, South Carolina does not have any EDGE prospects committed. 3-star commitment Keenan Britt plays a lot of defensive end in high school, but the Gamecocks want him as a linebacker.
