South Carolina offers talented young receiver

On Friday, South Carolina football offered a scholarship to class of 2028 wide receiver Jhamari Cain. Cain picked up the offer following a successful camp visit. He announced the news on social media.
Listed at 6-1 and 170 pounds, Cain just finished up his freshman year at Huguenot High School in Richmond, Virginia. Thanks to a strong debut season and a standout camp circuit this spring and summer, he has seen his recruitment take off in recent months. South Carolina represents his sixth offer. Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Marshall, East Carolina, and Howard are the others who have gotten in so far. Other power conference offers will be on the way over the next few years.
Cain plays both ways for Huguenot, getting reps in the secondary, too. His future, though, seems to be at receiver at the college level. The Gamecocks seem to agree because USC wide receivers coach Mike Furrey was the offering coach of record.

Because he is part of the class of 2028, Cain does not have an official rating or ranking from On3. However, he is talented. Cain has shown impressive hands and good speed. He can be a deep threat, but he doesn’t mind going across the middle or getting involved in the shorter passing game, either. Cain is capable of making both the spectacular and routine plays, and with three more years ahead of him at the high school level, he has plenty of time to get even better.
South Carolina has offered several talented young receivers from the 2027 and 2028 cycles. Cain is the fifth from Virginia, but the other four are all in the class of 2027.
