South Carolina football extended its first in-state scholarship offer in the class of 2028 on Thursday as wide receiver Jordan Gorham earned the offer after camping with the Gamecocks. The Timberland High School product announced the news on social media Thursday evening. He joined fellow in-state wide receiver Amiri Acker (class of 2026) and Virginia receiver Demarcus Brown in receiving offers.

In addition to his new Gamecock offer, Gorham also boasts offers from Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Howard. He recently had camp workouts at VT and Clemson.

Despite having just finished his freshman season, Gorham has impressive size for the wide receiver position. Already listed at 6-4 and 180 pounds, he has go-up-and-get-it ability on the outside. However, the young wideout can run, too, and he routinely finds himself behind opposing secondaries. He made the All-State squads in both football and track and field. As a sprinter, he broke the Timberland record in the 400-meter, logging a 49-second quarter mile.

Gorham is now one of seven rising sophomore receivers on South Carolina’s recruiting board. He’s also one of two who are at least 6-4. With three more years of high school before he ever steps foot on a college campus, Gorham could continue to grow. He plays some in the secondary for Timberland, too, but his college future is likely at wide receiver.

Gorham is not the only Timberland prospect on South Carolina’s radar. 3-star offensive lineman Desmond Green will be in Columbia for an official visit the weekend of June 20th. Like Gorham, Green also made the All-State team this fall. The big blocker is deciding between the Gamecocks, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, and Oklahoma Sooners.
