Four-star South Carolina target names Gamecocks in top group

South Carolina football recruiting target Kelsey Adams is one of the top offensive linemen in the class of 2027. On Wednesday, Adams confirmed on social media that the Gamecocks are one of his top schools. Along with USC, Adams released a top 10 list that also included the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Auburn Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, and Kentucky Wildcats.
Adams, who has visited Columbia for multiple unofficial visits, was in town most recently this spring. The Gamecocks are one of several teams pushing hard for Adams. As a Georgia native, the in-state Bulldogs have made him a priority, as well.
Listed at 6-5 and 260 pounds, Adams claims to be 6-6 and 295 pounds. His numbers seem closer to reality than his listed size, as he stands out on film. The big fella is also an impressive athlete who moves fluidly and quickly. He is a ferocious run blocker and has all the tools to be excellent in the passing game, too.

The Rivals Industry Ranking considers Adams to be the nation’s No. 65 overall player. He’s also the No. 9 offensive tackle nationally and No. 8 recruit in the state of Georgia. He has flirted with five-star status in the past and remains a consensus top 100 prospect.
Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Nebraska are Adams’ top suitors in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Gamecocks do not have a player committed yet in the class of 2027, but offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley has helped sign multiple blue-chip offensive linemen in every recruiting class since the 2023 cycle, making 2026 the fourth in a row.
