It’s signing day in South Carolina, and Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks program continues to bring in new talent.

The latest player to sign his paperwork with South Carolina football is Jackson (AL) native and four-star dual-threat quarterback Landon Duckworth.

Duckworth is a consensus four-star prospect. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, he is the class of 2026’s No. 144 overall prospect. He’s also No. 10 nationally among quarterbacks and No. 6, regardless of position, in Alabama.

Duckworth, who originally committed to USC in August of 2023, backed off that pledge in 2024. However, in a full-circle recruiting moment, he returned to the fold this summer after overtures from some of the southeast’s top programs. He shut down his recruitment officially in November.

Coach Beamer and the people there always make me feel at home.”
