South Carolina offers talented pass rusher from high school powerhouse program

One player on a long list of names visiting South Carolina this weekend was Luke Nabors. A class of 2028 EDGE prospect, Nabors has been on campus in Columbia multiple times, but after this Saturday’s trip, he left town with an offer from the Gamecocks.
The sophomore defender already has a long list of offers to his name. In fact, his list is approaching 20 teams from power conferences. Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Auburn are among the leaders in his recruitment so far. Southern Cal, Michigan, Miami, and others are also involved.
Nabors plays his high school ball for one of the best programs in the country, Buford High in Georgia. The Atlanta-area school produced a class of 2025 South Carolina signee, freshman linebacker AJ Holloway.
Following his most recent visit to Columbia, Nabors told GamecockCentral that he was impressed with the Williams-Brice Stadium atmosphere and the Gamecock defensive coaching staff. You can read more here.

The Insiders Forum: Discuss South Carolina football!
Listed at 6-4 and 202 pounds, Nabors appears to have a frame that could continue growing. His long arms and athletic ability have earned him the nickname “Extendo.” If he continues to add muscle, he could turn into a physical freak.
Nabors plays both as a hand-in-the-dirt defensive end and as a stand-up outside linebacker at Buford. However, he is at his best when he can use his athleticism and length to get after the passer. He isn’t afraid of battling at the point of attack, and as he gets stronger, he could turn into a good run stuffer, too.
The Rivals Industry Ranking lists Nabors as the No. 174 overall player in the class of 2028. He’s also No. 20 nationally among EDGE players. He is No. 20, regardless of position, in the state of Georgia. Nabors is a three-star recruit at this stage of his recruitment, but based on his ranking in the class, he likely will be a future four-star prospect.
