South Carolina offers explosive Georgia wide receiver

South Carolina and Alabama played one of the most competitive games of the weekend on Saturday afternoon, and a large group of visitors was at Williams-Brice Stadium to witness the action. One of the on-campus recruits who left Columbia with a scholarship offer was Georgia native Madoxx Davis. The Cartersville High School product revealed the offer on social media.
The USC offer is not Davis’ first. In fact, he already holds power conference offers from Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. Georgia, Georgia Tech, and other major programs are involved, too.
Davis, a speedy two-way player, appears to be a wide receiver target of the Gamecocks, though he plays in the defensive backfield for Cartersville, as well. On the offensive side of the ball, he is viewed as one of the top receivers in a loaded 2028 class in the Peach State.
The Insiders Forum: Discuss South Carolina football!
As a pass-catcher, Davis is an explosive playmaker. He isn’t the biggest player on the outside, but he makes up for it with elite after-the-catch ability. Davis is extremely quick, possesses good vision, and fights through contact much better than most players his size. He can play out wide or in the slot.

Davis also showcases his impressive ability with the ball in his hands on special teams. He already has multiple special teams scores in 2025, finding the end zone both as a kickoff returner and a punt returner.
At Cartersville, Davis plays alongside fellow receiver Brady Marchese, a Georgia commit who was a South Carolina flip target. Even with the senior Marchese gobbling up targets on the other side, Davis has been plenty productive. The Purple Hurricanes game plan to get the sophomore the football, both in the quick game and within the traditional route tree.
Rivals hasn’t rated Davis yet, but a ranking will be coming his way. In addition to his work on the gridiron, he is a high-level performer in baseball and track and field.
