South Carolina football offers two-way class of 2028 lineman
South Carolina football has offered class of 2028 lineman Major Green. The Portsmouth, Virginia native earned the offer after having a good camp day at USC. He announced the news on social media.
The recruiting industry seems split on Green’s positional future (he plays both sides of the line of scrimmage for his IC Norcum High School squad), but Gamecock offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley and director of offensive recruiting Sam Serbay offered Green.
Because he still has three years of high school remaining, Green does not have a recruiting ranking. However, if Thursday is any indication, he will be a known commodity before his process is completed.

As a player, Green is a powerful but nimble jumbo athlete. Listed at 6-5 and 325 pounds, a look at Green’s film shows that he has unusual strength for a high school freshman. Yet, he moves pretty well, especially for a player his size.

As an offensive lineman, Green lined up primarily at left tackle last fall. He has some work to do from a technical standpoint, but the tools are all there. Once engaged, he leverages himself well, and he can set an anchor in pass protection.
Green has some impressive defensive tackle film, too. He blows up virtually every run play that goes his direction, and he has more pass rush juice than most bigger tackles. When given the opportunity, Green likes to go for big hits, showcasing his aggressive, physical play style. He was an All-Region performer as a freshman.
Per GamecockCentral’s Chris Clark’s reporting, Green was part of some great one-on-one battles against athletic class of 2027 EDGE Success Nwabude, another player who earned a Gamecock offer following Thursday’s camp.
