This weekend, South Carolina football extended a scholarship offer to one of the best players in the class of 2028. Four-star cornerback Nate Dollard, a product of Charlotte Country Day School, announced his new offer on social media, shouting out Gamecock defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, as well.

Though a high school sophomore, Dollard is a standout corner with double-digit offers from SEC, ACC, and BIG Ten teams. He has talked most about Georgia and Tennessee and has visited both schools, along with Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Vanderbilt. He also plans to visit Notre Dame, North Carolina, and NC State soon.

Being a Charlotte native, Dollard is closest in proximity to the University of South Carolina, at least when considering power conference programs. He was on campus in Columbia this summer for a prospect camp.

Dollard, listed at 6-feet tall, has solid length (especially for his age) and has a knack for sticking his hand between a receiver and the football. He does a good job of mirroring receivers and plays with a high football IQ.

He is also a playmaker in the other two phases of the game. Dollard has put some nice catches on film as a wide receiver and plays on multiple special teams units. He showed off his speed and agility earlier this season with a kickoff return for a score.

The Rivals Industry Ranking currently slots Dollard in as the No. 79 overall prospect in the 2028 cycle. He’s also No. 5 in North Carolina and one of several elite prospects in Charlotte. Dollard is No. 9 nationally among all cornerback recruits in the class.
