South Carolina football will have a busy summer of recruiting. The Gamecocks, like most teams in power conferences, will have a long list of visitors coming to campus during the next month. July, then, will join June as a period likely with plenty of rising high school seniors making their college decisions, despite the month being a dead period.

With recent updates to the On3 industry rankings, the team recruiting rankings have updated, as well. As things stand, South Carolina ranks No. 21 in the country. That also puts the Gamecocks in 10th place in the Southeastern Conference. LSU (1), Georgia (5), Texas A&M (6), Alabama (9), Tennessee (12), Auburn (13), Texas (14), Ole Miss (16), and Oklahoma (20) all sit ahead of USC in the updated industry team recruiting rankings. Arkansas (30), Vanderbilt (38), Mississippi State (42), Missouri (unranked), Florida (unranked), and Kentucky (unranked) are below. The rival Clemson Tigers are 10th.

Perhaps a positive in South Carolina’s favor is the fact that Shane Beamer’s team has just five players committed so far in the class. No team positioned ahead of the Gamecocks in the team rankings has fewer than five pledges. Only one (Alabama) is ahead of Carolina with just five commits.

With a long list of big names high on the Gamecocks, theoretically, if USC finishes the class as planned, they will move up the rankings as more talent hops into the boat.

Overall, South Carolina is No. 14 in average players ranking.

Leading the charge is 4-star safety J’Zavien Currence. The South Pointe High School product is No. 96 nationally, No. 1 in the Palmetto State, and No. 8 overall among safeties. At this time, he is the only unanimous 4-star prospect in the class, but that will change.

Then, 4-star offensive lineman Zyon Guiles is next. Another South Carolina native, the On3 industry ranking pegs him as the No. 149 player in America. He’s also No. 3 in the state and No. 8 among all interior offensive linemen. On3’s player rankings are even higher on Guiles, labeling him as the No. 37 overall prospect, the top interior blocker in the country, and the Palmetto State’s No. 1 talent. He owns blue-chip designations from three of the four major recruiting outlets.

Tight end Jamel Howse is another 4-star pledge in the class. The Newberry native ranks at No. 297 overall, No. 5 in-state, and No. 15 among tight ends. Like Guiles, he owns blue-chip designations from three of the four major recruiting outlets.

Keenan Britt, a former industry ranking 4-star, is No. 466 in the country. He’s also No. 18 in the state of Alabama and No. 48 among EDGE players. However, South Carolina is planning to play Britt as a linebacker. He still holds a 4-star status with ESPN and Rivals. 247Sports and Rivals rate him as a linebacker, while On3 and ESPN consider him an EDGE.

Rounding out the class is 3-star interior offensive lineman Anthony Baxter. A teammate of Currence at South Pointe, Baxter is No. 1187 in the country according to the industry ranking. He’s No. 16 in South Carolina and No. 110 among all interior linemen in the nation.

USC has had three decommitments during the 2026 cycle. 4-star prospects Landon Duckworth, Rodney Colton, and Peyton Dyer have all backed off of their Gamecock pledges. South Carolina remains in the running for the quarterback Duckworth, but Colton and Dyer appear headed elsewhere.
