South Carolina offers talented Georgia defensive lineman

While most of the current recruiting attention is on the 2026 cycle, South Carolina football continues to lay the groundwork for future classes, too. On Wednesday, the Gamecocks offered a scholarship to class of 2027 lineman Ronald “Trey” Moore. Moore was in Columbia for an o-line/d-line prospect camp. He announced the offer on social media.
The rising high school junior is no stranger to USC. Moore took an unofficial visit to check out Carolina for spring practice in March. He was also in Columbia for last year’s College GameDay contest against LSU and camped with the Gamecocks last summer.

Moore, a product of Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia, is listed at 6-4 and 290 pounds, and his size stood out at camp. He plays on both sides of the line of scrimmage at Collins Hill but received his offer on Wednesday from defensive line coach Travian Robertson, perhaps indicating that the Gamecocks’ interest is in him as a defensive tackle prospect.

So far, Moore’s recruitment has been somewhat quiet. However, things are heating up as he has taken several unofficial and camp visits this spring and summer. He also has scholarship offers from Georgia State, Sacramento State, Florida Atlantic, Toledo, Howard, Miami (OH), UAB, and East Carolina. All of his offers have come since February, and more should be on the way soon. South Carolina represents the big man’s first power conference offer.
So far, the Gamecocks do not have any class of 2027 prospects committed. In the ’26 cycle, South Carolina has received commitments from North Carolina defensive tackle Aiden Harris and in-state offensive linemen Zyon Guiles and Anthony Baxter.
