South Carolina extends offer to high-upside pass rusher
South Carolina football wrapped up another day of Shane Beamer Football Camp on Thursday. With that, the Gamecocks handed out a few scholarship offers. Perhaps the most interesting new offer came for class of 2027 EDGE Success Nwabude. USC’s offer follows recent offers from Georgia, Florida State, and Georgia Tech.
Nwabude also will play tight end for his ACS squad next fall. His height and hardwood-related comfortability catching passes over the heads of smaller players make him an intriguing player at that position, too. However, based on his offer coming from defensive ends/outside linebackers coach and defensive run game coordinator Sterling Lucas, it would appear South Carolina likes Nwabude as a potential pass rusher.

Listed at 6-7 and 245 pounds, Nwabude stood out at camp. In addition to his obvious size and length (he might be even taller than 6-7), Nwabude is a good athlete with smooth feet, likely related to his background as a basketball player. From a physical standpoint, he looks very similar to former South Carolina defensive end Devin Taylor.
The Athens Christian School product is still extremely new to football, further adding to the intrigue of his potential. According to his social media, he didn’t start playing football until this spring. Therefore, his work this fall with the Golden Eagles will be his gridiron game debut.
Nwabude’s older brother, Godslove Nwabude, is a basketball player at Eastern Michigan.
