South Carolina football makes top five for 4-star wide receiver
South Carolina football has made the top five for elite class of 2026 wide receiver Somourian Wingo. Wingo, a 4-star prospect, announced his updated list on Monday afternoon. Along with the Gamecocks, the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, and Miami Hurricanes made the cut for the talented St. Augustine, Florida native.
The On3 industry rankings–a weighted composite of the rankings from On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals–places Wingo as the No. 157 overall player in the country. He’s also the class of 2026’s No. 23 receiver and the No. 21 prospect in the state of Florida.

The 6-3 wideout has an official visit scheduled to Columbia for the weekend of June 20th. He is one of several pass-catchers set to take OVs to see the Gamecocks this summer. One of them, fellow 4-star Gordon Sellars, recently announced a pledge to the rival Clemson Tigers. Obviously, that decision casts doubt as to whether or not Sellars will take the official. 4-star recruits Ryan Mosley and Travis Johnson also have OVs on the calendar.
Wingo is a multi-sport athlete who excels on the hardwood for the St. Augustine basketball team, too. The in-state Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators appear to have the edge in his recruitment.
