Gamecock uniform report for South Carolina-Alabama
For just the second time in the 2024 season, the South Carolina football team is on the road on Saturday. The first road trip of the year saw the Gamecocks whip the Kentucky Wildcats up and down the field. Saturday’s matchup, though, will be a bit tougher as Shane Beamer’s team will travel to Tuscaloosa for a date with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Beamer and the Gamecocks are looking to spring an upset, and if they do, it will be the program’s third top-10 win during his tenure, a number that would be good for second-most in South Carolina football history (behind Steve Spurrier’s eight).
As is the case ahead of every road game, USC fans began asking about uniforms: “Will they wear the ‘Stormtrooper’ look?” “What about black helmets with white jerseys and pants like the 2022 Clemson win?”
Fans had mixed reactions to last week’s black-garnet-black, and many were anxious about what the Gamecocks would wear against Alabama.
Up until about 20 hours before game time, the South Carolina football program offered no hits. However, on Friday afternoon, some social media posts revealed that this week’s uniform report could be a special one.

The official Gamecock Football pages teased out a brand new helmet, presumedly one for Saturday’s matchup against the Crimson Tide. In a new take on the classic white look, the stripes on the top of the helmet were sized and spaced differently, and, most notably, the facemask was white. The Block C logo is bigger, as well.
Then, on Saturday morning, the Gamecocks completed the rest of the uniform reveal.
The new white lid will pair with a white jersey and white pants. The Gamecocks have not worn all-white uniforms so far this season.
South Carolina and Alabama kick off at noon ET. ABC will broadcast the game, and fans can stream the contest on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
