Gamecock uniform report for South Carolina-Clemson

Last season, South Carolina wore a number of uniform combinations, not repeating one until the 11th game of the year. The 2025 Gamecocks have repeated just once. On Saturday, as they play their final game of the regular season, Shane Beamer’s team will step onto the field at Williams-Brice Stadium with another fresh combination.

According to a Saturday morning post from the South Carolina football social media team, the Gamecocks will wear their white helmets against Clemson. The lids will feature a white facemask and the now-standard larger Block C decal.

A short time later, the social media team unveiled the entire gameday look.

For the first time all year, South Carolina will wear white helmets, black jerseys, and black pants. That is the inverse of the winning combination for the Gamecocks for the last two trips to the Upstate, victories in 2022 and 2024 that featured black helmets with white jerseys and white pants. They’ve also never worn the combination with the white facemask.

Carolina hasn’t worn white-black-black, regardless of facemask color, since the 2024 Missouri game. In that contest, the Gamecocks won a thriller over a different Tigers team, as LaNorris Sellers, Dalevon Campbell, and Rocket Sanders powered two late-game touchdown drives and then an earthquake-like reading on local seismographs.

The Mizzou victory was the only time in the Shane Beamer era that USC has worn the white-black-black combo. The Gamecocks also wore the look in a 2018 loss to Texas A&M under former coach Will Muschamp. Prior to that, the combination had not been worn since the 2007 beatdown against Florida, in which Tim Tebow solidified his Heisman Trophy win.

This season, Carolina is 2-1 in black jerseys, 1-2 in black pants, and 0-3 in white helmets. The Gamecocks are 0-2 in white facemasks this season and are 1-4 since the reintroduction last season.

Kickoff for the South Carolina-Clemson game will be at noon. SEC Network will carry the television broadcast, while the ESPN app streams the on-field action.

Neither South Carolina nor Clemson has earned a spot in the ranking in some time. In fact, both teams fell out of the rankings in September.

BetMGM lists South Carolina as a 2.5-point favorite for Saturday’s matchup. Williams-Brice Stadium has sold out for the rivalry showdown.
