South Carolina and Kentucky will meet in a virtual must-win game on Saturday night. As much as a September contest can, this one feels as if it could mark the “end” of the season for the loser. Williams-Brice Stadium will be full of rowdy Gamecocks, as USC announced another sellout.

Kickoff is slated for 7:45 p.m. SEC Network will handle the television broadcast, while the ESPN app makes the game available via streaming.

Neither South Carolina nor Kentucky sniffed a top 25 vote this week. That has been the story all year for the Wildcats, but the Gamecocks were in the top 10 of some polls as recently as two weeks ago.

Last season, South Carolina wore a number of uniform combinations, not repeating one until the 11th game of the year. On Saturday, the Gamecocks will continue the trend of rocking new combinations in 2025.

According to a Saturday afternoon post from the Gamecock Football social media team, USC will wear black helmets against Kentucky. They wore black lids during the 2023 home win over UK.

However, these black helmets are a little different than the ones Carolina wore against back in 2023. The Block C logo, as it has been since mid-way through the 2024 season, is bigger.

A short time after the helmet announcement, the social media team revealed the entire gameday look.

South Carolina will partner their black helmets with black jerseys and white pants against Kentucky. The Gamecocks haven’t worn that combination often, last doing so in the Outback Bowl win over Michigan after the 2017 season.

Kentucky has not officially announced a uniform plan for Saturday. However, the Wildcats posted a picture to social media of South Carolina native Quaysheed Scott in the team’s all-white look. This could be a hint at their plans.
