Gamecock uniform report for South Carolina-LSU
South Carolina will be on the road Saturday night for a date with the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. The sold-out matchup will begin at 7:45 p.m. (Eastern) and will broadcast on SEC Network and stream on the ESPN app.
Both the Gamecocks and Tigers have been in the top 10 at times in 2025. However, Shane Beamer’s team now resides firmly outside of the top 25 rankings, while Brian Kelly’s squad has a No. 11 next to their name.
Saturday night’s showdown will be a revenge opportunity for the Gamecocks. South Carolina lost by a score of 36-33 at home last season with College GameDay in town. A game marred by officiating controversy, USC couldn’t hold a 17-0 lead and ultimately missed the College Football Playoff by a game.
Last season, South Carolina wore a number of uniform combinations, not repeating one until the 11th game of the year. On Saturday, the Gamecocks will repeat a combo for the first time in 2025.
According to an early afternoon post from the official South Carolina football social media team, the Gamecocks will wear black helmets against LSU. The helmets are the new-look black helmets that include a large Block C logo. The team debuted those lids in the season opener against Virginia Tech.

A short time later, the social media team revealed that the rest of the gameday look would mirror the Virginia Tech game, as well.
For the second time this fall and fourth time under Beamer, South Carolina will wear all black. Though usually a home look, that combo is possible because LSU typically wears white at home.
The Virginia Tech game in August represents the Gamecocks’ only win away from home this season, so perhaps revisiting the uniform from that day will bring some luck to USC. LSU is a 9.5-point favorite in the game.
South Carolina has not lost while wearing the all-black look during Beamer’s tenure. The Gamecocks beat Kentucky in 2023, Texas A&M in 2024, and Virginia Tech in 2025. Carolina is 3-0 this season in black helmets and 0-2 with different-colored domes.
