South Carolina will play its first road game of the 2025 season on Saturday. The Gamecocks and Missouri Tigers will meet on Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium for this year’s Mayor’s Cup. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern). ESPN will broadcast the SEC showdown, while the ESPN app makes it available via streaming.

South Carolina fell out of the AP top 25 this week but features in the “also receiving votes” section of the ranking. USC also sits at No. 24 in the coaches poll. Missouri is just inside the top 25 in both rankings.

With a 2-1 overall record and 0-1 mark in conference play, the Gamecocks could really use a win against a 3-0 Tigers squad that hasn’t played an SEC game yet. It won’t come easy, though, and Carolina is a double-digit underdog at the time of this writing.

Last season, South Carolina wore a number of uniform combinations, not repeating one until the 11th game of the year. On Saturday, the Gamecocks will continue the trend of rocking new combinations in 2025.

According to a Saturday afternoon post from the Gamecock Football social media team, USC will wear white helmets against Missouri. The helmet will include the updated, bigger Block C logo. The team debuted those helmets last season.

A short time later, the social media team showed off the entire gameday look.

South Carolina will wear their “stormtrooper” uniforms. The Gamecocks’ white helmets with black facemasks will pair with a white jersey and white pants. The social media post was of a No. 14 jersey, a nod to quarterback Connor Shaw, who was hospitalized this week with a health scare.

Though popular, the team did not utilize that uniform combination in 2024. The Gamecocks wore all white twice (against Alabama and Illinois), but they utilized their white facemasks for those contests. Carolina dropped both games.

This week, Missouri has called for a blackout. Because of that, the Tigers are expected to wear all black, creating a stark contrast with the Gamecocks’ all-white look.
