Last season, South Carolina wore a number of uniform combinations, not repeating one until the 11th game of the year. The 2025 Gamecocks have repeated once through six games this season, the all-blacks worn against both Virginia Tech and LSU. On Saturday, as Williams-Brice Stadium plays host to an SEC showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners, Shane Beamer’s team will break out a new combination for this fall and one they’ve never worn before.

According to a morning post from the official South Carolina football social media team, the Gamecocks will wear their white helmets against the Oklahoma Sooners. The white lids will come with a white facemask and the now-standard larger Block C logo.

A short time later, the social media team revealed the entire gameday look.

For the first time this season, South Carolina will wear white-garnet-white. However, in the history of the program, that combination has been one of the most common home choices for the Gamecocks.

Last season, Carolina wore white-garnet-white twice, but both instances were the team’s 1980 throwback uniforms. The more modern white-garnet-white hasn’t been worn since the 2023 win over Mississippi State.

The look is new, though, because the team has never worn its white facemask on the white helmet while at home. The Gamecocks are 0-2 all-time in the white helmet with white facemask, with losses on the road against Alabama and in the Citrus Bowl against Illinois. In both of those games, USC wore white jerseys and white pants. Saturday is the first time that South Carolina has worn a white helmet with a white facemask, garnet jersey, and white pants.

Under head coach Shane Bearmer, the Gamecocks are 8-3 wearing any variation of white helmets, garnet jerseys, and white pants. However, three of those wins and one of those losses came while wearing some form of throwback helmet and/or jersey. South Carolina has won its last four white-garnet-white games.

Carolina has sold out Williams-Brice Stadium for this Saturday’s afternoon affair. Kickoff will be at 12:47 p.m. SEC Network will handle the broadcast, while the ESPN app makes the action available via streaming.

Both the Gamecocks and the Sooners have been inside the top 10 at some point this season. However, that feels like a distant memory for South Carolina, as USC hasn’t been ranked at all in over a month. Oklahoma pushed as high as No. 5, but the Sooners are 14th in this week’s AP poll.

The crimson and cream will be looking for some garnet and black-shaded revenge on Saturday night. South Carolina won last year’s meeting in Norman–the first ever between the programs–by a score of 35-9. The Gamecocks are 5.5-point underdogs, according to BetMGM.
