Per an announcement from the University of South Carolina, Saturday’s contest between the Gamecocks and Vanderbilt Commodores has sold out.

Neither South Carolina nor Vanderbilt has played a Southeastern Conference game in 2025, making this weekend’s showdown the SEC opener for both squads.

Both teams are 2-0, though, having each beaten the Virginia Tech Hokies and an FCS school from the Palmetto State (the Gamecocks knocked off the SC State Bulldogs, and the Commodores defeated the Charleston Southern Buccaneers).

Saturday will be the second night contest of the year inside Williams-Brice Stadium. It will also be Vanderbilt’s second road battle of the season.

South Carolina has not lost to Vanderbilt since the 2008 season. The Gamecocks are riding a 16-game winning streak in the series. Following a 24-7 thumping in Nashville in 2024, the Commodores want revenge.

Vandy quarterback Diego Pavia revealed this offseason that the South Carolina game was the one he and his teammates had circled on the 2025 calendar. Then, this week, Commodore offensive lineman Bryce Henderson publicly declared, “We know that we can beat them, and we’re gonna go in there and do it.”

The Gamecocks opened as an 8.5-point favorite in the matchup, but the line has shifted toward the ‘Dores. At the time of this writing, South Carolina sits at -5.5 to win the ball game.

This week, USC found itself ranked No. 11 in the AP top 25 and No. 10 in the coaches poll. Vanderbilt showed up in the “also receiving votes” section of each poll.

For those who were unable to get tickets to the now-sold-out affair, SEC Network will broadcast the game. The ESPN app will also make it available via streaming.
