Dylan Stewart injury update: Latest from Sunday teleconference

South Carolina is a battered and bruised football team, seven games into its 2025 slate.
But Shane Beamer is hopeful he’ll have several Gamecocks back for this weekend’s matchup with Alabama, including star EDGE Dylan Stewart, who went down in the loss to Oklahoma.
“We’ll know more after a day or so; optimistic on all those guys,” Beamer said Sunday evening during his teleconference. “I don’t think anybody’s long-term. We feel optimistic on all those guys that either missed yesterday or left the game yesterday. We’re optimistic on their availability for Saturday.”
Stewart went to the locker room after the first drive of the game with a hip injury and then returned to action, only to exit again and not return.
Offensive linemen Cason Henry, Nolan Hay, and Shed Sarratt Jr. all missed the game with injuries. Linemen Nick Sharpe, Trovon Baugh, and Tree Babalade all went down during the game with undisclosed issues.

Beamer also revealed Sunday that freshman defensive tackle Caleb Williams, who was set to possibly debut Saturday due to depth issues at the position, broke his leg in practice on Thursday.
Wide receiver Brian Rowe Jr., EDGE Anthony Addison, and defensive tackle Davonte Miles were all suspended for Saturday’s game but are expected back this week.
