There’s little surprise that Alabama is heavily favored over South Carolina, considering their seasons have gone in opposite directions of late entering this weekend’s matchup at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Crimson Tide opened as a 13.5-point favorite over the Gamecocks, according to BetMGM, on Sunday.

The early over/under was set at 47.5 points. Last season South Carolina lost a heartbreaker in Tuscaloosa, 27-25.

The Gamecocks are coming off back-to-back losses, dropping SEC matchups to LSU and Oklahoma, respectively, off a win over Kentucky.

It’s been a disappointing season for South Carolina (3-4, 1-4 SEC) that began with high expectations and a win over Virginia Tech. Carolina followed that with a win over South Carolina State and losses to Vanderbilt and Missouri.

It’s been the opposite for Alabama.

The Crimson Tide message boards were burning following a Week 1 beatdown from Florida State. But Alabama has rebounded and caught fire, winning six straight games, including four straight over Top 25 opponents.

The Gamecocks and Tide kick off at 3:30 on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. ABC will carry the action.
