Two more four-star prospects set South Carolina official visits

Statesboro (Ga.) class of 2024 four-star cornerback Kam Mikell has scheduled an official visit to South Carolina for the weekend of June 9.
The 6-foot, 180-pounder, who is fresh off his official visit to perceived favorite Georgia, informed On3’s Chad Simmons of those plans and GamecockCentral has confirmed it on the South Carolina end.

Mikell is considered the No. 155 overall prospect and the No. 17 cornerback in his class in the On3 Industry Ranking.
The On3 Industry Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media services.
Mikell also has plans to take official visits to Georgia Tech and Kentucky, though the Bulldogs are considered the heavy current favorite in his recruitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
The news that Mikell will OV to South Carolina comes on the heels of another four-star prospect from the Peach State announcing plans to do the same.

Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon announced on Friday that he’ll take an official visit to South Carolina on the weekend of June 2.
While the Gamecocks, much like On3, consider Soloman an “athlete,” he’s being recruited to Carolina by defensive backs coach Torrian Gray.
Solomon is the No. 219 overall prospect and No. 9 athlete in the 2024 cycle in the Industry Ranking.

Soloman, who has South Carolina in his top 11, was last in Columbia for the Garnet and Black Spring Game on April 15.
Georgia, Miami, Florida, Ohio State, USC, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, and Colorado make up the rest of that top group.
It’s been a somewhat newsy weekend in the South Carolina recruiting space.
Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep class of 2025 five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin is currently (Sunday afternoon) on campus at South Carolina for an unofficial visit as GamecockCentral told its subscribers on Friday was scheduled to happen.
The visit is Griffin’s first opportunity to meet new South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson.
“He seems like a cool guy, just can’t wait to meet him in person (Sunday),” Griffin told GamecockCentral prior to the visit.
The Gamecocks also extended an offer to Broome (S.C.) class of 2026 running back Jaylen McGill following a big performance in his spring game.
