PHOTOS: Landon Duckworth throughout the recruiting process
Jackson (Ala.) four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth announced his commitment to South Carolina on Friday night, adding the Gamecocks’ top QB target to their commit list for 2026.
Duckworth originally committed to Carolina back in 2023 before decommitting and taking a longer, more in-depth look at the recruiting process.
But ultimately ended up back with Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks.

The first commitment… August 5, 2023
Duckworth announced an early commitment to South Carolina, choosing the Gamecocks over early scholarship offers from Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, TCU, UCF, and Vanderbilt.
“South Carolina really laid out the red carpet & has shown regardless of it being three years from now I’m their top priority quarterback for the ’26 class,” Duckworth told GamecockCentral.com at the time.

A visit to Ole Miss…
For a large stretch of the process, it seemed like Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss were the favorites to land Duckworth’s signature.
But this one came down to the Gamecocks and Auburn…
“It is even for me between Auburn and South Carolina,” Duckworth told Chad Simmons leading up to the announcement. “… It will come down to where I feel most at home, which offense I feel I fit the best in and my connection with the coaches.”
