Thursday injury update on Nyck Harbor, Brandon Cisse, Jalewis Solomon

Since South Carolina’s final two games of the season are out of conference, there will be no officially SEC availability report for the Gamecocks’ matchups with Coastal Carolina and Clemson.
Still, head coach Shane Beamer shared the latest on the health status of wide receiver Nyck Harbor and defensive backs Brandon Cisse and Jalewis Solomon Thursday evening during his call-in show.
“Jalewis won’t play; he’ll be out another week,” Beamer said. “Cisse definitely will play, and then I would say Nyck is somewhere in the middle.”
Harbor finished the Texas A&M game with three catches for a career-high 102 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown catch and run he had in the second quarter that gave South Carolina a 27-3 lead at the time.
But he exited and was ultimately taken to the hospital as a precaution following a scary landing on his final catch of the game, a late fourth-down conversion for the Gamecocks.

“[It’s] more [of an] upper body [injury] from the hit that he took on the sideline against A&M, where he made the catch,” Beamer explained. “Great catch on the sideline and the guy came down on his chest. They kept him in College Station on Saturday night for more tests, and then he flew back to Columbia on Sunday. But he was back in the building on Sunday and has been back at practice every single day this week and we’ll see how he continues to progress. But he’s been in great spirits and excited to see him get well.”
It is not known what Cisse’s injury was. Usually a key part of the Gamecock defensive backfield, he played just 28 snaps in the game.
While Beamer didn’t give specifics, he said last week that Solomon, who had started to play some on special teams, “aggravated something” in practice last Thursday.
South Carolina returns to action this week against Coastal Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium. The matchup is set for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff on the SEC Network.
