Former Lexington star Cam Scott leaving South Carolina basketball via transfer portal

South Carolina guard and former blue-chip recruit Cam Scott has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw.
During his lone season in garnet and black, Scott struggled to maintain a role. He averaged just 2.5 points on 27.8% shooting from the field and 17.8% shooting from the arc. Scott also averaged 1.3 rebounds per game.

Ranked as a top-50 player out of high school, Scott flipped from the Texas Longhorns to the hometown Gamecocks. He played in 26 games for USC but didn’t play more than 10 minutes in any game after February 8th.
Scott will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next college stop.
