Both of South Carolina’s starting corner outfielders are out of eligibility, and the veteran Ensley will be a candidate to fill in at either of those spots.
A Franklin (N.C.) High graduate, Ensley has racked up quite a bit of playing time during her two years in Raleigh, playing in 104 career games so far, all starts.
As a sophomore this season, Ensley had 47 hits, including 13 doubles, one triple, and three homers, with an .803 OPS.

The Gamecocks are expected to be active in the portal to replace all of the experience lost from last year’s squad. Ensley is their second public commitment after Mississippi State transfer pitcher Josey Marron announced a commitment to the program on Friday.
South Carolina returns several of its core players, including Arianna Rodi, Karley Shelton, Quincee Lilio, and Lexi Winters, but has to replace the left side of its infield, both corner outfielders, and drafted pitcher Sam Gress.
