South Carolina offensive lineman could be out for season, plus latest on Dylan Stewart

The latest injury news on South Carolina EDGE Dylan Stewart is a major positive for the Gamecocks. The news for starting right tackle Cason Henry, not so much.
Head coach Shane Beamer said Tuesday during his weekly press conference that most of South Carolina’s injured Gamecocks, including Stewart, practiced on Tuesday, whereas Henry may not return this season.
“Should all be good,” Beamer said. “I think everybody will be back and healthy this week except Cason Henry. He’ll be out (and) I don’t think he’ll return this season, so certainly not playing this Saturday. But everybody else was back out there and practicing today.”
Stewart went to the locker room early in the Oklahoma matchup with a hip injury and then returned to action, only to exit again and not return.
Henry and fellow offensive linemen Nolan Hay and Shed Sarratt Jr. all missed the game with injuries, while Nick Sharpe, Trovon Baugh, and Tree Babalade all went down during the game with undisclosed issues.
Henry went down early in the Vanderbilt game with a shoulder injury. He looked good to go for Missouri, but then exited after just one play, and has not played since.
Sarratt went down with an ankle injury in the first quarter of the LSU game during Matthew Fuller’s 72-yard touchdown run. He was available this past weekend but did not see the field.
Hay earned his first career start with the Gamecocks against Missouri but exited with a knee injury and hasn’t been back since.

“Tro was at practice today,” Beamer said. “Nick Sharpe was at practice today. Tree practiced today. Nolan Hay practiced today. Yes, every offensive lineman except for Cason, that has played in games, practiced today.”
Wide receiver Brian Rowe Jr., EDGE Anthony Addison, and defensive tackle Davonte Miles were all suspended for Saturday’s game but will be back this week.
The first SEC availability report of the week will be released on Wednesday at around 8 p.m. The next update will be on Thursday, followed by another on Friday, and a final report 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday.
Beamer also typically provides an injury update on his Thursday night call-in show.
Last season, the SEC approved a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.
SEC school personnel must submit availability reports three days before each football game, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before, with an update on game day.
When schools submit injury reports, players will be designated as available, probable, doubtful, and questionable before game day. On game day, designations will be available, game-time decision or out. The model follows injury reports similar to the NFL.
