South Carolina fans will take no solace in this after the Gamecocks opened SEC play 0-2 following Saturday night’s loss to Missouri. Still, Carolina is favored to get its first conference win of the season next Saturday.

The Gamecocks opened as a 7-point favorite over the Wildcats on early Sunday afternoon per early Vegas lines. The over/under was set at 44 points.

South Carolina is 2-2 (0-2 SEC) after Saturday’s 29-20 loss at Missouri, which came a week after a 31-7 home loss to Vanderbilt.

The Gamecocks, a preseason Top 15 team, opened the year with wins over Virginia Tech and South Carolina State.

Kentucky (2-1, 0-1 SEC) is also looking for its first conference win. The Wildcats, who were off this week, sandwiched a loss to Ole Miss with wins over Toledo and Eastern Michigan.

Last season, the Gamecocks went to Kentucky and returned home with a 31-6 win.

Kickoff this year is scheduled for 7:45 ET this Saturday night at Williams-Brice Stadium, with the SEC Network carrying the game.
