South Carolina softball NCAA Tournament game broadcast changing
South Carolina softball won on both Friday and Saturday, meaning that the Gamecocks drastically improved their chances of advancing from the NCAA Tournament’s Regional to the Super Regionals. The Columbia Regional matched up USC against the Elon Phoenix and North Florida Ospreys, and Ashley Chastain Woodard’s team dispatched of both opponents.
Later on Saturday, the Ospreys won, defeating Virginia for the second time, eliminating the Cavaliers and giving them one more chance. On Sunday, South Carolina and North Florida will meet again with first pitch at 1:00 p.m. However, broadcast plans have changed. Instead of Gamecocks-Ospreys, Round Two, airing on ESPN2 as originally planned, the game will not be on traditional television. Instead, the game will stream on ESPN+.

Carolina needs just one win to advance, while UNF would have to defeat the Gamecocks twice to make it to the Supers. If a game two is necessary, game two will begin shortly after the conclusion of game one. That contest also would be streamable on ESPN+.
With another win, South Carolina will begin hosting an NCAA Tournament Super Regional next weekend. The Columbia Regional is paired with the Los Angeles Regional. That means if the Gamecocks win, they will host either the UCLA Bruins or UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos. UCLA and UCSB play on Sunday with UCLA needing just one victory to advance.
